Hello and welcome to Gaylord A. Nelson Educational Center. We are happy you are here!
There are so many great things we are proud of as Clear Lake Warriors. Please take time to review our site for information and resources to better acquaint yourself with our wonderful elementary school. If you are new to the area, please come by for a tour. We would love to show you around.
At a glance, we have approximately 300 children ages 4-year-old through 6th grade who are eager to learn. With smaller class sizes taught by educators who invest their time and energy into helping the child not only succeed academically, but socially, emotionally and physically as well, the students are valued and engaged in a high-quality educational experience. From our specialist teachers to our support staff, the kitchen staff to our bus drivers, our custodians and our paraprofessionals, every person puts kids first. You will notice that the moment you walk through our doors.
We understand, however, it takes more than just a school to help a child be successful, so we are thankful for our strong relationships with parents and the community. Please volunteer, talk with our staff and participate in activities we have planned throughout the year. With a home/school/community partnership, the positive impact we can have on students will last a lifetime.
My family and I make our home in Clear Lake so we, too, are invested in the quality of the education in the district as parents of a set of twins in the high school. With being in education for over 20 years and a classroom teacher here at the elementary school for nearly a decade, I can speak firsthand about the dedication everyone has to helping children succeed.
