🎣🐟 Gone Fishin'!

In guidance this week, our 1st graders used teamwork and cooperation with a fun fishing game! They displayed patience, communication and encouragement from one another! It was so great to see them cheering for their classmates and working together to "reel" in success. 💙

The school district received a generous $260 donation from the Amery Hospital and Clinic to be used toward student meals. Natalie and Martina delivered the funds which were raised by employees through a "pie in the face" competition, then divided among the school districts served by the clinic. Thank you!

The High School Civics class would like to thank Polk County Clerk Shabana Lundeen for speaking about her job, the election process and other county positions!

Earlier this month we received a very generous donation of 20 student backpacks and $600 for student meals from Wreck Amended Auto and Howlin' Wolf Creek Bar & Grill. Thank you to Kya Smith and "Grandma Jean" for delivering these items to our students! You are appreciated! #CLWarriorPride

Grades 3-8 Girls Basketball

Jr. Joggers is back!

Get your 3rd-6th graders ready to run with our Jr. Joggers program! They'll learn stretches, workouts, and the importance of good nutrition and sleep. Plus, they'll get to run a mini-race and earn a medal!

• Who: 3rd-6th graders

• When: Practice: Friday, October 3rd & Monday, October 6th from 3:30-5:00 PM Meet: Mini Race on October 7th at 3:30

• Cost: $20 per person (includes a t-shirt and snack!)

Hi, everyone!

My name is Kinzie Kuhn, and I am thrilled to join the Clear Lake Elementary School team as the new Junior Warriors Coordinator. Having grown up in the Clear Lake area, I am particularly excited to contribute to the community I am familiar with.

My husband and I have been together for eight years. We have four beautiful children: Ada, Aliya, Levi, and Lennox. Our home is quite busy, with two dogs, a hamster, a guinea pig, a rabbit, and nearly 30 beef cattle, which we manage on land just south of Clear Lake! When I'm not busy with all the other things, I enjoy gardening, practicing yoga, and getting creative with glitter epoxy cups.

A couple of fun facts about me are that I was homeschooled during my elementary and middle school years and received my high school diploma through an online program through the state of Pennsylvania. I recently graduated in August with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, focusing on child and adolescent development, which I completed in just a year and a half. I am so looking forward to getting to know all of the little warriors and their families!

The Clear Lake Warriors cross country teams traveled to Balsam Lake yesterday to compete in the Unity Invitational Meet.
The junior high boys' team placed fifth out of the nine teams competing.
The Warriors varsity girls placed 8th out of 12 teams and the varsity boys finished 14th among the field of 15 teams.
Congratulations to all team members on their performances! A special shoutout goes to senior Violet Wood, who finished 10th among the 100 girls who completed in the meet.
Next up for Clear Lake cross country is a meet in Frederic on Tuesday, September 23.

Clear Lake is looking for about 6-8 volunteers to help at an event:

🏃‍♂️ Home Cross Country Meet
📅 Thursday, October 7
We need volunteers to assist with:

Directing traffic

Serving as spotters along the course during the race

🏐 High School Volleyball Games (4 home events)
We're also looking for someone to run the score clock for our JV and Varsity volleyball games.

No experience necessary — we will provide training (score clock is a paid position)!

Hello everyone! My name is Becca Peterson, and I am from Turtle Lake. I graduated this past December from Upper Iowa University with my degree in elementary education. I will be teaching kindergarten this year. Some of my favorite things are coffee, reading, and kayaking. I am excited to join the Clear Lake family and to be a Warrior!

Forensic science students are exploring the Bertillon Measurement System that was used prior to fingerprinting and DNA information for identification of an individual person. Using calipers and measuring tapes, students are learning to make precise metric measurements.
