From towering skyscrapers and futuristic vehicles to entire mini-cities, our students let their imaginations run completely wild. But it wasn’t just about having fun—the kids were secretly practicing some major skills!

The only thing better than summer school is a surprise visit from our local heroes! A huge thank you to the Clear Lake Police Department for stopping by last Thursday to serve up some delicious, ice-cold root beer floats to our hard-working students. 🍦🥤
The root beer floats weren't the only sweet thing happening—we also got to celebrate a very special teacher's birthday! Happy Birthday to Mrs. Ruble!

Spreading kindness, one thread at a time! In Mrs. DeBoer's friendship bracelets class, it was all about the art of friendship. Everyone got super creative choosing their color palettes and mastering their knots. It wasn’t just a lesson in patience and fine motor skills—it was the perfect way for students to connect, chat, and make new friends while making something beautiful to share!
This week in our summer culinary class, our students took on the ultimate crowd-pleaser and got incredibly creative with their toppings!

Ally and Avery went the sweet route and recreated a legendary favorite—dessert pizzas! They whipped up cinnamon and apple masterpieces inspired by Pizza Ranch's famous Cactus Bread. 🍎✨
Charlie and Christian proved that pizza is acceptable at any hour by mastering the ultimate morning comfort food: breakfast pizza! 🍳🥓

Using special diamond art kits, they are meticulously placing vibrantly colored resin rhinestones onto self-adhesive canvases. By matching the colorful "diamonds" to the printed symbols on the grid, they watch their stunning designs come to life piece by piece.

Mrs. Paulson's 1st and 2nd graders had an absolute blast last week in summer school tackling some incredible LEGO challenges! From engineering super-tall towers to designing high-flying zip lines and inventing creative creatures, their imaginations were running wild. 🚀
A huge crowd-favorite? Learning how to code to make their LEGO creations actually move! 🤖✨ We wrapped up our days with some well-deserved free build time to let their creativity flow completely unscripted.

This week, our students stepped back in time to cook up some classic recipes from the Great Depression. Because ingredients were scarce and expensive back then, they learned how to bake a delicious cake without any butter, eggs, or milk!
They also whipped up a famous "Mock Apple Pie"—but since fresh apples were hard to come by, they had to get creative.

🎨 Community Rock Hunt: We painted beautiful rocks and hid them outside the Museum, Kate’s, and the Library! Keep your eyes peeled next time you're out and about—can you find one?
🦁 Dandelion Lions: We turned backyard weeds into fierce (and adorable) dandelion lions!
🌿 Nature Scavenger Hunt: The kids explored the outdoors and snapped pictures with their favorite nature finds.
🍦 The Perfect Finish: We wrapped up our amazing week with a well-deserved sweet treat—ice cream from Kate’s!

What a fantastic start to our summer! Week 1 of our "Tricks and Treats" program was an absolute blast. Our students jumped right into the fun, getting hands-on in the kitchen to whip up some delicious treats, and then the real magic happened… they got to hang out and play with some incredibly sweet dogs! And they're off! We celebrated our 6th graders' graduation yesterday. The ceremony featured 6th-grade choir and band performances, Class awards and achievement awards, and heartfelt speeches from our students. A special thank you to the parents, teachers, staff, and Administration for all you do to prepare them for this big day! Wishing the Class of 2032 the best as they embark on this new chapter. We are extremely proud of you!

Each month, the elementary school awards students who exemplify Warrior traits in and out of the classroom.
