Recently Clear Lake Elementary was awarded $1500 through Polk-Burnett's Operation Round Up to be used for the One School, One Book reading program that will be kicking off later this year.
Locally, Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative awarded nearly $19,000 to 16 nonprofits in October to support schools and parks, children and families, the arts and education.
The Operation Round Up grants are funded by members of the Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative who round up their electric bills.
General Manager Steve Stroshane remarked, "We're proud to support nonprofits and their vital work to improve our local quality of life. We thank our co-op members for their participation in Operation Round Up. Your generosity makes a difference to so many people and programs in our community."
We are thankful for our Reading Specialist, Mrs. Courtney Gorres, for applying for the grant. What an amazing impact this will have on our elementary families!

Visits like these are such a fun, memorable way to help our youngest learners build trust with community helpers while learning how to keep themselves and their families safe. 🧯👨🚒👩🚒

Inside the immersive inflatable dome, students explored glowing constellations, distant planets, and the incredible wonders of our solar system. It was a truly stellar way to bring science lessons to life and get our young learners excited about the universe! 🛸

To celebrate all that hard work, grit, and academic determination, our 7th graders took a special field trip to the St. Croix Falls Cinema for a private screening of Coyote vs. ACME! 🍿🎬 (And unlike Wile E. Coyote's plans, our students’ hard work actually paid off! 😉)

📚 Growing Readers, Growing Leaders! 🚜✨
We had some very special guests at the elementary school today! Our amazing High School FFA students visited our Junior Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade classrooms for a wonderful morning of reading and mentorship.
The little ones were absolutely thrilled to spend time with the "big kids," who shared some fantastic stories and talked about leadership, community, and agriculture. Thank you to our FFA members for being such incredible role models and inspiring the next generation of leaders! 💙💛
