The curtains just closed on our summer school play, and honestly, Broadway better watch out. Between the backstage chaotic energy, the DIY costumes, and a few improvised lines, we had the absolute best time.
There is nothing quite like a homemade pizza straight out of the oven!
We are so fortunate to have such supportive local businesses!
This past spring, Raising the Bar held a fundraiser for the Clear Lake Elementary weekend backpack food program.

From towering skyscrapers and futuristic vehicles to entire mini-cities, our students let their imaginations run completely wild. But it wasn’t just about having fun—the kids were secretly practicing some major skills!
It’s amazing to see how much creativity can come out of a giant tub of plastic bricks. Future architects and engineers are definitely in the making here! 👷♂️👷♀️

The only thing better than summer school is a surprise visit from our local heroes! A huge thank you to the Clear Lake Police Department for stopping by last Thursday to serve up some delicious, ice-cold root beer floats to our hard-working students. 🍦🥤
The root beer floats weren't the only sweet thing happening—we also got to celebrate a very special teacher's birthday! Happy Birthday to Mrs. Ruble!

Spreading kindness, one thread at a time! In Mrs. DeBoer's friendship bracelets class, it was all about the art of friendship. Everyone got super creative choosing their color palettes and mastering their knots. It wasn’t just a lesson in patience and fine motor skills—it was the perfect way for students to connect, chat, and make new friends while making something beautiful to share!

Using special diamond art kits, they are meticulously placing vibrantly colored resin rhinestones onto self-adhesive canvases. By matching the colorful "diamonds" to the printed symbols on the grid, they watch their stunning designs come to life piece by piece.

Mrs. Paulson's 1st and 2nd graders had an absolute blast last week in summer school tackling some incredible LEGO challenges! From engineering super-tall towers to designing high-flying zip lines and inventing creative creatures, their imaginations were running wild. 🚀
A huge crowd-favorite? Learning how to code to make their LEGO creations actually move! 🤖✨ We wrapped up our days with some well-deserved free build time to let their creativity flow completely unscripted.

This week, our students stepped back in time to cook up some classic recipes from the Great Depression. Because ingredients were scarce and expensive back then, they learned how to bake a delicious cake without any butter, eggs, or milk!
They also whipped up a famous "Mock Apple Pie"—but since fresh apples were hard to come by, they had to get creative.

What a fantastic start to our summer! Week 1 of our "Tricks and Treats" program was an absolute blast. Our students jumped right into the fun, getting hands-on in the kitchen to whip up some delicious treats, and then the real magic happened… they got to hang out and play with some incredibly sweet dogs! Thank you to Rosewood Goldens for letting us come and visit.🐶✨
